Special Services

The ITG offers special consulting services to users who either cannot conduct work in the facility themselves, or cannot hire a student to work in the lab for them. This service is provided to offer services when the customer cannot find someone else to employ to do the work for them. In other words, the special consulting services will not constitute the primary use of the facility. Services are offered in several categories, with non-negotiable pay rates.

Procedure:

In order to hire a person for a specific project, the customer needs to do the following:

1. See an ITG staff member for a consultant contact info sheet, download the PDF version from this web site.
2. Contact a consultant, describe the project and determine if the needs of the project match the consultant to be hired.
3. Assuming the consultants and customer agree, fill out the information on the reverse side, select the appropriate rate classification and procure the manager's signature for approval.

Policies and Conditions:

1. The Imaging Technology Group and/or Beckman Institute and their staff are not responsible for damage to original materials, missed deadlines or any other unforeseen problem.
2. The ITG provides contacts only; all future negotiations should be handled between the customer and the consultant.
3. Consultants who also work directly for the ITG may not work on special projects while also charging hours to the ITG.
4. If a project will fall into several different rate categories, the highest rate is charged for all tasks. Example: A customer needs Avid editing, video dubs and scans -- the going rate for Avid usage (the most expensive) will be charged for all work associated with this project.
