Anaphase

During anaphase, the pairs of chromosomes lined-up at the equatorial plane start to move apart. The centromeres of each chromosome have split and the daughter centromeres appear to lead the rest of their chromosomes toward the poles. These two cells show the chromosomes in blue, the developing spindles in green, and actin distribution within the cell in red.
