with the
Leaf Scanner

In biology and psychology, as well as other fields, it is often useful to measure the optical density of a sample. To this end, the Visualization, Media and Imaging Laboratory has analyzed and characterized the responses of two scanners to a range of optical densities. With the information available in this report, it is possible to use these scanners to quickly and easily measure the optical density of various samples.
