The First Eight Weeks of the Bugscope Project Clint Potter Director, Imaging Technology Group 25 March 1999 Bugscope is a new educational project in the World Wide Laboratory at the Beckman Institute. Participating classrooms have the opportunity to control an Environmental Scanning Electron Microscope to image insects at high magnification. Students and teachers control the microscope using web browsers from their class room computers. The primary goal of the Bugscope project is to demonstrate that relatively low cost, sustainable access to a scanning electron microscope can be made available to K-12 classrooms. This talk will provide an overview of the Bugscope project.
