Notes

Volume rendering is a type of visualization, though AVW actually calls a couple of types of rendering Volume Visualization when more properly they're a surface extractions. No matter.

You can use the volume render tool to create animations. These are simply sequences of images bundled into a single file, not movies like QuickTimes. But they can be converted later.

The sequence tool uses a familiar track-style tool, much like a cheap Avid knock-off. Most of the effects are simple transformations like rotations, thresholding, rotations, clipping, and wedging. No fancy wipes and fades here! But it creates down-n-dirty movies good enough for use in day to day research.
