Notes

Users familiar with the old Analyze cannot escape the most striking change in AnalyzeAVW: the Graphical User Interface. The interface follows some rough conventions for UI design: menubars across the top, help pages available for each window, pop-up menus using right-mouse clicking, etc.

AnalyzeAVW follows a few conventions of its own: the powerbar editor permits user-level configuration of commonly used functions; app-defaults files permit pre-configuration of individual components; and window colors are consistent throughout functional components.

Of the menus that are available, the bulk of processing occurs using the Display, Process, and Measure menu items on the main workspace panel, and the Generate and Tools menus in individual functions. This talk will focus mainly on those. As for the Help menu, it is context-sensitive: calling help in a module brings up the help page about that module. All help pages are written in HTML, and should be automatically dumped into Netscape.
