Welcome to my gallery of puppets!  These were made for my amusement and the amusement of my friends, young and old.  There are two kinds of puppets represented here:  glove puppets and sock puppets.  All but two are glove puppets, made from gardening, kitchen, or eveningwear gloves.  If you could see them in action, you'd quickly understand the expressive benefits of having eyes on stalks.  I like puppets that have a wide range of motion while affording precise control, so gloves are a great beginning medium.  If you like these puppets or have ideas for other things to make puppets from, I'd be glad to hear from you.  --Kate McDowell
