Small Unilamellar Liposomes, ~100-150 nm

These lipid-based nanoparticles have an inner aqueous core and an outer hydrophobic bilayer. They are used as drug delivery vehicles, wherein toxic cancer drugs may be either encapsulated in the aqueous core or incorporated into the bilayer. Negative-stained TEM image.
