Image of the Week - 15 April 2003
The ShapecamThe Imaging Technology Group recently acquired a new three-dimensional image acquisition device called the Shapecam. The Shapecam operates by projecting a grid onto the surface of the object to be scanned. The deformed grid is then mathematically reconstructed into the three dimensional surface of the object. A second image is acquired simultaneously and is used as the texture map for the object. Multiple images may be acquired and seamlessly stitched together. Contact the ITG for information on how to use this equipment. Image Courtesy: Daniel E. Weber Contact: weber@uiuc.edu |
